What is it?
- A general term that refers to a foot with flattened/reduced arch
- Can be due to the arch of the foot not developing properly during childhood but can also occur over time as wear and tear over time can result in a fallen arch
- Flat feet work differently to feet with ‘normal’ arches and increase the risk of injury due to increased stress on the foot, ankle, knees and hips
How can I help?
Orthotics and/or footwear changes are usually very effective in accommodating and supporting flat feet.
